Handcrafted Log Home and Log Garage/Shop on 5 acres with almost 800 feet of year round stream.
This home is 12 years old and was built by the owner. It has 1800 square feet with lots of glass, and an open floor plan that make it feel larger, and it opens on to a 900 s.f. deck.
The property includes two separate lots in North Fork, one of Centennial Valley’s nicest subdivisions.
The house is situated completely on one lot, so the other lot remains open to future building, and the water is set up to service that already.
The Garage/Shop (aka “The Barn”), is situated on an additional parcel that was acquired separately, but has been deeded to belong to the same lot as the house.
The owners did it all – from the nearly 60 cubic yards of stone work, to cutting and peeling the logs, and more.
The house is known for its coziness and soundness, and efficiency in the nastiest of storms that Wyoming can produce, and the heating bills reflect that.
The property sits about a half mile from the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, with its northern boundary in the middle of the North Fork of the Little Laramie River. There are numerous hiking, biking, and skiing trails nearby, and the Snowy Range Ski Area is about three miles away.
The buildings are situated on the open area on the hill over looking the creek, and there is a large lush area down on the creek with ferns and berries and deer trails. Hummingbirds abound in the summer, and deer frequent the grasses and Sarvis berries up by the house on many mornings and evenings. There have been occasional visits by Moose, Elk, Antelope, and Cougar. Not to mention Raccoons!
The Barn is 24’ x 48’ with large loft area plus 12’ x 16’ office space attached, plus partially enclosed car-port & tractor bay attached, plus 2-car garage area w. remote powered door. Office has heated floor system complete, main area has insulated slab with infloor tubing installed. This is truly a craft person’s dream.
The commute to Laramie – if you must – is an easy 32 miles into town proper. The commute to Centennial is about 2 miles by car and about a mile on foot.
This is rural mountain living at its best!
